Urbain(es) 2022 — Acrylics on cutout wood, 4.5 × 2.5 m. Commissioned by La Condition Publique and Danysz Gallery, Roubaix. Curated by Magda Danysz.
Part of an exhibition examining women's relationship to public space, specifically how women artists claim shared urban territory and how the female figure is introduced into street work regardless of the artist's gender. Twenty-seven artists and a hundred works are spread across 1,500 square metres of a former industrial hall in Roubaix. The piece submitted was a hermaphrodite figure on cutout wood, with the body marked by butcher chart writings: the lines that divide a carcass into commercial cuts mapped onto a human form. The body as commodity, and difference as something to be weighed, priced, and sold.
