URBAIN(ES) CLOSE-UP (2026)

US$800.00
Limit 1 per order

URBAIN(ES) CLOSE-UP is drawn from Aya Tarek's contribution to the Urbain(es) programme at La Condition Publique, a former textile factory in Roubaix, France, where the politics of who makes marks on cities, for whom, and under what conditions of visibility, were the explicit subject.

The close-up isolates a single passage from the mural: a blue reclining figure mapped with butcher's annotations, shank, sirloin, short loin, rub, round, plate, rendered in Tarek's hand over the body. The diagram is clinical; what it describes is not. Sacrifice, spectatorship, and the body as contested public surface are compressed into a single frame.

Published in Urbain.Es: À La Condition Publique, Beaux Arts Editions (2022). Printed as a giclée on archival Hahnemühle Bamboo Fine Art 290 GSM (or equivalent archival matte fine art paper), hand-signed and numbered by the artist.

Limited edition of 30. Certificate of Authenticity under Azarita Ltd.
