Winston House 2017 — Acrylic paint on wall. Winston House, Venice Beach, Los Angeles.
Painted on the back wall of Winston House — a live/work loft on Electric Avenue that had become Venice Beach's de facto creative living room, hosting Thursday night concerts where artists like Billie Eilish and Ed Sheeran played early sets before anyone knew their names. The mural fills a double-height black wall: a figure in profile, the head detonating into splatter, pattern, and fluid mass — an exploding portrait caught between construction and disintegration. Commissioned by the founders during a period when the space was still an invitation-only loft, before it moved to its permanent venue on Windward Avenue.
